What the project did
“The two-phase project, Improved Opportunities for Self-Employment and Employment, aims to enhance the economic position of women in the labour market across the Pristina and Ferizaj regions. Funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the project primarily targets marginalized women, with partial support for men.”
The first phase provided professional training to 300 women in tailoring, horticulture, beekeeping, handicrafts, soft skills, financial literacy and digital skills; it supported 24 women-led businesses through grants, awarded 10 startup grants, and assisted over 100 women through employment mediation at the Resource Center.
The second phase aims to benefit 545 individuals: 230 women equipped with vocational, business and soft skills, up to 200 women given micro-business capital or internship support, grants to 20 women or women’s groups, and start-up assistance for 30 women entrepreneurs. Memoranda of understanding were signed with the municipalities of Hani i Elezit, Drenas, Kaçanik, Shtime, Fushë Kosovë, Obiliq, Ferizaj, Lipjan, Graçanicë and Novobërdë.
