Discussion on existing mechanisms against gender-based violence with women activists and change agents in the Prishtina region

Engaging women to support other women is both a necessity and a responsibility. Today we held an informative discussion on existing mechanisms against gender-based violence with women activists and change agents in the Prishtina region, within the project “Together Building Resilience Resilience”, funded by UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund).
The discussion revealed the work of the Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims represented by Drita Cakiqi, the Center for the Protection of Women and Children represented by Emine Jakupi and the Association for Divorced Parents represented by Arjeta Gashi. This discussion was moderated by journalist Donika Gashi and opened by Ardiana Maraj, Projects’ Coordinator at Kosova – Women 4 Women.
During the discussion we talked about the ways these entities help women survivors of violence to be empowered and what they offer for them. This discussion served to share experiences of working for the benefit of women and the difficulties faced by these entities.
We thank the panelists and participants for an open and fruitful discussion!
The UN Trust Fund is the only global grant-making mechanism, dedicated exclusively to addressing all forms of violence against women and girls at the local and national levels. To date, the UN Trust Fund has supported 572 organizations in 140 countries and territories.
