Women as agents of change

Women as agents of change
Today we began with the 5-day advocacy workshop with women from the villages of Gadime and Shala of Lipjan, the village of Rahovica in the municipality of Ferizaj and the city of Ferizaj.
Under Erza Kurti’s facilitation, these women will learn to identify problems that women face in their municipalities and compile advocacy plans to solve these problems.
Present were also social empowerment trainers in the Kosovo – Women 4 Women organization; Zojë Shala, Zejnepe Selimi, Gjylere Morina and Besa Canolli who have been with these women’s groups over the past ten months.
Women are important agents of change in our society – when they are empowered to deal with issues directly, the entire community is strengthened.
This activity was organized within the project “Together Building Resilience”, funded by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund).
The UN Trust Fund is the only global grant-making mechanism, dedicated exclusively to addressing all forms of violence against women and girls at the local and national levels. To date, the UN Trust Fund has supported 572 organizations in 140 countries and territories.
